Ill Crate episode 11

This is episode 11 (that’s ridiculous; it’s not even funny). In observation of the Memorial Day holiday, we remember several musicians who are dead now–no, not Kurt, Janice, Jim, or Jimi, but Cliff, Klaus, and Wesley. And since LG’s girlfriend the Countess is in town, she makes a rare special guest appearance on the podcast and gives us new appreciation for the expression “eat the mic.” Padrino tells of his Weakly Disappointment with “light” golf bags, the fiXer eliXir features SpEnt fiXer’s international smash hit single “Octopus Motor,” and we talk about a bunch of other stuff and junk.

But did YOU bring the Octopus Motor???
    I hate Marcy’s Playground!!!
I loved ROTS! It was so good and sad. My gut just ached with Obi Wan said “You were like a brother to me!” I just wanted to cry.
Then Anikan caught on fire and we couldn’t look at hottie Hayden anymore!

I loved the Wesly Willis song. We were singing it at work after you played it.

  2. LG Says:

Right on. :-) FWMAFO is indeed a common epithet of the Countess and I. A catchphrase, even.

If you like that song, check out the other MP3s on the Alternative Tentacles site. My recommendations would be “Gingerbread Knocked Me Out,” “My Keyboard Got Damaged,” and “I Whipped Spiderman’s Ass.”

  3. Padrino Says:

I’ve been singing that Willis song as well. Get’s into the blood stream, doesn’t it? Hey, I saw Hayden in a nice little movie called “Shattered Glass.” It was about that New Republic reporter that fabricated a bunch of his stories. He played (Ron?) Glass. Did a great job. I thought he improved a ton as an actor since “Attack of the Clones.”

    Ill Crate episode 12

Episode 12 is here. Our theme is rock bands with leading women (womyn? wymyn? wœmœn?), featuring in particular the HorrorPops, Juliette and the Licks, and Aimee Mann. Also, Padrino reveals his close encounter with the stroke (not the Billy …

  5. Aren Says:

I have Shattered Glass on our NetFlix…
Any movie with Hayden is a good movie.
Did you ever see Life as a House?? (Padrino)

  6. Aren Says:

Oh yeah!! And Ewan in Star Wars!!! He is just magnificant as always.

  7. Padrino Says:

I haven’t seen that one . . . is that the Kevin Kline movie? Is it about him dealing with cancer? That might be a little hard for me to watch right now. But I’d definitely check it out at sometime. BTW, what was Hayden’s first film? I thought it was Star Wars.

  8. Aren Says:

Life as a house is sad…it is abot dealing with cancer. When you do feel up to it, it is a good flix.
Look at IMDB…he was in a lot of TV as a kid.
He was in a John Carpenter film it looks like in ‘94. He was also in the Virgin Suicides (Sofia Coppola), I didn’t know that. I must rent that one again.
I think i am obsessed with him right now. I’m crazy!!

What is the orgin of the name Padrino?? I don’t think I remember hearing that on the Ill Crate…

  9. Mr. Cocktail Says:

Holy crap!? Padrino was in the army!? Which one!? Angolan? Canadian!? Wha!? Who!? Huh!?

I will concur with Aren that Life as a house is a good movie…sad…but good…

Okay…Klaus Nomi scared me…should I be scared? German’s should be scared!

Episode III did indeed rock! There were of course inconsistancies…I won’t nit pick…this is of course Mr. Lucas we’re talking about here…but I would rate it with Empire. Star Wars episode IV will always remain my favorite…probably more emotional reasoning behind this than anything…

Okay…Wesley scared me too…on various levels…what is wrong with you people!? :)
Was Mr. Willis and Mr. Nomi related in any way?

Octopus Motor!!! Yes…I forgot it… sigh

Tom Waits! Bring him on!!! “What’s he doing in there…” “What’s he building in there…”

    Don’t forget Greg Brown!

You can thank (blame?) the Countess for that. She introduced me to the world of Wesley, which I in turn introduced to Padrino.

What did you think of the Countess, by the way? I know I haven’t said much about her to you, but that’s not out of secrecy so much as pure laziness. Did I tell you about our Web site? (Be warned, it is as cutesy as the Ill Crate is filthy.)

  11. Mr. Cocktail Says:

Oh we know how secretive you are about your women! ;) :)

We need to meet her dude! :) For all I know that was some impersonator on the Podcast! Heck, it could have been you!

Website? Cutesy? Let me find a bag….okay…off to the site…Awwww!!!! How cute! :) Where’s my bag? heheheh j/k! :) Actually, how can Padrino stand all that cutesyness!? Then again…we’ve been wondering about him lately…maybe this is a further sign…

So, when is she is moving up here!? When are we going to have a cutesy party!? :) :):)

    A.

  12. Mr. Cocktail Says:

Kerrap…I used alot of smiley faces in the last comment…now i’m scared of myself!

  13. Padrino Says:

I didn’t have anything to do with LG’s website! I’m just an Illin’ and chillin’ type guy. Nothing cute here!

BTW, I tried to get into the army with a buddy right out of high school. I actually swore in and everything. As we were off for our flight, my recruiter pulled me aside and said he just received a call and that I was nullified because of my psoriasis (which I hadn’t seen a hint of since about the third grade at that point). So my friend, whom I begged to join up with me, had to go it alone. I think he ended up hating me, as I ended up staying home taking care of his “girlfriend” and he went of to South Carolina and Germany for four years. Niiiiice. ;)
