]]>Anyway, we’ve seen an action packed first ten minutes. Both of us were surprised that Toby was in the bottom two. Neither of us were knocked out by either performance by Toby nor Magni. We’ve seen it before. L.G. notes that both of us predicted that the contest would come down to Dilana and Lukas on the very first episode. I think we based this simply on their image. We are both happy that we didn’t have to suffer through Toby and Magni’s original material again. Though we both sorta like Toby’s song. We forgot what Magni’s even sounded like, despite suffering through it a couple of times. BTW, we thought Toby really lacked energy during his performance this evening.
That was weird, they used Lukas’ “Headspin” for background music during a Survivor promotion . . . a sign that Lukas is the new lead singer for the Pirates and that his song will be on the forthcoming album?
L.G. was tired of Lukas’ bittersweet sympathy before the end of the first bar. I kind of like it. Not a bad performance though . . . as usual. We’ve yet to determine if he can sing though. But then again, who cares? Mick Jagger can’t sing and we love the hell out of him. So we can see that the Pirates might be inclined to pick him. Imagine a singer who can’t sing and a guitar player who can’t play guitar! A match made in friggin’ heaven.
Okay, Zombie . . . I do have to admit I really really really like this . . . and I love the original . . . one of my favorite songs of all time. 101011 used to rock out on this song, but we called it Zombij . . . in tribute to our beautiful little Shih Tsu. Dilana does a super job with this song. But it is such a great song, that if you can hit the notes, it is impossible to make this one suck.
Okay . . . love the Killers . . . and Toby is doing a great vocal job, however, he still seems to be performing a bit scared, not sporting his usual swagger. L.G. thinks Lukas has seemed the most confident.
Overall . . . the 3 performances were mediocre, but Lukas gets the edge performance wise and Toby gets a singing edge. L.G. liked Toby best overall. I guess I concur.
and . . . going home is, is, is, looks like Toby . . . yes! Toby goes home.
Well then, L.G. and I were right . . . the weird hair twins find the final two spots. We knew that during the first hour of this season’s Rockstar: Superpirates!
And . . . the new singer of the SuperPirates is is is is is is a commercial.
Ohhhhhhhhh, breaking news . . . L.G. and Padrino . . . Major major disagreement. L.G. says Dilana! He wants you to know he’s been saying Dilana from the beginning!!! I believe it was always Lukas from the beginning. That is why Jason was coaching him on how to “open his throat!’ Well well well kiddies, which of us is correct?
And the winner is . . . L.G.! No . . . No . . . No . . . wait, it is me? Yup, Lukas is the newest Pirate!
Nice parting gift . . . Gilby as cowriter and producer for Dilana, NOT! L.G. says, “at least he doesn’t have to play guitar!” Dave gets to do that!
Here we go . . . SuperPirates hit the stage. Wonder if they will do the Pirate song?
Yes, it is the Pirate Theme Song! Like Toby’s version better.
Umm, looks like the audience is less than impressed.
Well, we’re out with another Pirate original and another vanilla song I won’t remember in three minutes.
That’s all folks!
Until next season, then. Evs. :p
Nelson out, er, I mean . . . see you later, I hope.
Thanks for hanging out and giving us your time and your insights. You’ve been fabulous.

Oh, “when”, you ask?
Well, in the Seattle area, you should be able to find them on your local PBS station at Midnight on 5/28. But please, check your local listings. The only downside, is that they are splitting the bill with Jack Johnson (I think I have that right). But if you’re familiar with the outstanding quality of Austin City Limits, even Jack should be tolerable.
Enjoy!
