Ill Crate episode 12
Episode 12 is here. Our theme is rock bands with leading women (womyn? wymyn? wœmœn?), featuring in particular the HorrorPops, Juliette and the Licks, and Aimee Mann. Also, Padrino reveals his close encounter with the stroke (not the Billy Squier variety), we discuss Deep Throat (not the Linda Lovelace variety), our Weakly Disappointment comes from Hit Me Baby One More Time (not the Britney Spears variety), and LG sits in the Geek Zone ranting about Yahoo’s and Cisco’s new plan to combat spam.

Wasn’t “Hit me Baby” bad?? But I will continue to watch it…as I am addicted to crap TV. For as much crap TV I watch…I need to read a book, then I will be more intelligent…than just good looking! HAHA!! Yeah right!
Good show.
Lets make a deal then…quit whining about it on the radio and lets get together! I’m waiting…

Hahaha! Crap TV! Now there is a cable channel that should happen. Or is that what MTV has become? I’m hoping that “Hit Me Baby” improves greatly with the appearance of The Knack tomorrow. I think the only thing that can keep them from winning is if they do a horrible cover/second song.
I’ll try and encourage LG to pick me up for a weekend, Southside movie run . . . then perhaps we can all get together. But then again, LG has to be home all the time so that he makes sure he doesn’t miss a certain San Diego phone call. Hahahhaa. Just kidding, LG!

I know…MTV needs to change there name…the only time i see a video is on commericail breaks. We have a new channel on dish called International Music Feed, it plays videos from around the world…it is alright.
The Knack…MMMMM My Sharona!
I don’t think they get to “pick” their second song…if they do then why the heck did Loverboy sing “Hero”???
Well we can head north too to see you guys.
We just need to make some plans and get together.
We can even meet at LG’s to wait for the phone call…

Hahahaha . . . that damn phone of his! He should just have a hot line directly to SD from Seattle.
That would be awesome if you guys came up . . . but we could meet half way I’m sure. We just to make it convenient for LG, since he’s the ultra wheelman. I think he’s going to star in “The Transporter 3.”

Holy TIA Padrino!!!
Don’t scare us like that! sigh
Egads…I have a history of headaches and migraines…plus…i’m no healthy person…
Be well El Padrino! Be well!!
I can attest that Aren is indeed hooked on “Hit Me Baby One More Time”
I must admit I enjoyed Vanilla Ice and Hadawa this past evening! LOL!!!
Indeed…what happened to Tiffany!?!?!?
Wait…I hear voices coming out of distinctly different speakers? Was I experiencing some sort of stereo on this episode!? Or I am smoking something…could be…we seem to get the helicopter exhaust in our office at times…ooo man!!!!
BRING BACK the fiXer!!!! HEY! Need a base player? Aren’s little bro plays base in a highschool band and he ain’t bad!
LOL!!!
June 15th, 2005 at 7:51 pm
Hey, if the fiXers were still playing, we’d love a new bass player (then I wouldn’t have to do it anymore), but alas, the bowling balls and golf clubs came out and the guitars got hung up on the wall . . . not that they couldn’t be taken back down . . .
Well, “Hit Me Baby . . . ” got me sucked in, and even though I know it pretty much sucks, they usually have at least one decent act each week that makes me want to tune in.

Yes, Rass, we are now putting out the podcasts in full stereo. A couple of things made that happen: (1) we got a new adapter for the mics that lets us treat them as two separate inputs, so we can actually put me on the left and Padrino on the right (just like in real life, ho ho); and (2) he convinced me that a lower-bit-rate stereo podcast doesn’t sound that much worse than a higher-bit-rate mono podcast.

Woo Hoo!!! It’s in amazing stereophonic sound now!!!
Understood on the guitars to golf clubs and bowling balls…wait…are you becoming republican!?!?!?
Weee!!!
By the way! What a coincidence…after listening to your segment on Juliette and the Licks…we were watching VH-1 and caught a special on her and her new band! Kind of a reality television behind the scenes documentary following her and her band…pretty cool! Man she is wacked!

I’ve always been pretty conservative, but never really a Republican. I can’t seem to align myself with any party. We really need a Masturbatory party! Now that I could support!
Regarding Juliette and the Licks, I’ve never been a fan of her acting really, in fact I’ve shunned a couple of movies (unfairly, I know) perhaps because she was in them, but I’ve become a pretty big fan of hers lately. And that album truly shreds. If you haven’t gotten it yet, let me know. We’ll “listen” to it next we meet.
