Ill Crate episode 15
Episode 15. Hey, that’s 1111 in binary. And speaking of geeking, this is a pretty geeky episode, so geeky that we launch right into the Geek Zone pretty early on and talk about music file sharing, the illegal kind (Grokster and the Supreme Court) and the legal kind (Weed). And we take a listen to Built to Spill, the Reverse Engineers, Her Majesty’s Finest, and the Gordon Experiment. We forgot about the fiXer eliXir this time, though, so sorry, SpEnt fiXer fans (I mean fan). And to round out the geeky theme, we play a bit of a new video game that’s all the rage, Destroy All Humans!.

Hello LG and Padrino,
Thanks for playing Max Q and Mercury in Retrograde on your podcast! It was great to hear you guys totally getting into The Reverse Engineers. To be compared to Rush is the highest honor you can bestow on us three mere mortal musicians. I look forward to hearing more of your show in the future. I made a blog posting on The Reverse Engineers website regarding your podcast and linked back to your show.
Thanks again,
Dan Cote

Hey Dan,
Glad you liked the show! Thanks for writing. I think you’re officially the first person who’s posted to our Web site whom we don’t know personally and who isn’t a spammer.
We wish you and TRE continued success and look forward to hearing more.

Dan!
Rush is probably my second favorite band, right after Jethro Tull, however, I must admit that I think your “Max Q” is more interesting than anything Rush has released on their last couple of albums! Don’t get me wrong, I still really like and appreciate any new Rush, but I kind of know what to expect nowadays. A lot less progressive and reaching these days. I think they stopped surprising me around “Hold Your Fire.” Your stuff is tight and interesting . . . exactly what “prog” should be! Loving the tone of that bass too!
