Ill Crate episode 16
We managed to tear ourselves away from the Sudoku puzzles to bring you episode 16, where the musical theme is actresses who rock out. No, that doesn’t mean J-Lo. That means Traci Lords, Juliette Lewis (of Juliette & the Licks), and Julie Delpy. Okay, maybe “rock out” is a bit of a stretch for Julie, but we still love her. We also talk about the premiere of that new smash-hit(?) reality(?) show, Rock Star: INXS, the logical/numerical madness just crashing onto U.S. shores that is Sudoku, and the tiny-budget sci-fi time-travel thriller Primer. So give it a listen while we run out and buy more pencils.

Can we start cutting the length of these shows down a bit? Remember:
Trees = Bandwith
. . . or something like that.

Hahaha.
Oh, so you’re saying it’s my fault?

Let’s just blame it on Lance Armstrong . . . he has it so good anyhoooo!
P.S. I mentioned in the podcast something along the lines “what’s up with American Boy Vol. 2? Is there a first volume?” Well, indeed there is. Seems Juliette released an EP some time ago . . . which I now have in my greedy little hands, and there is a song on it called “American Boy.” Who knew?

Hey Boys!
Finally had a chance to catch up on shows this week.
I’ve caught a bit of the Rock Star…but I love Big Brother. Adrian isn’t into Rock Star…so I have to watch it on my own…which is fun. I don’t know why but I am facinated with Dave Navaro (?).
My other crap TV favorites are BlowOut, Dog the Bounty Hunter….you name it I have probably seen it.
Ok…back to work…thank god it’s Friday!

You know what it is with Dave Navarro? It’s all about the mutton chops.

Maybe that is it….or the fact his eye make up looks better than mine.

It isn’t just eye makeup is it? I think he wears about as much makeup as Tammy Faye . . . of course, he’s still better looking. I have really gotten to like Dave though. He could be a really stuck-up and pretentious asshole given the level of his personal and professional success in both the world of rock and roll and showbiz, but he’s completely opposite; a really nice and sensitive guy who really seems to care about regular people and many styles/eras of music. And he is a really really good guitar player. I wish he’d get up there and jam with HouseBand.

Well I had heard his mother was terribly murdered when he was a teenager. I’m sure that has a lot to do with how he is now. Apparently he was really close to his mother. I think I got that information from another one of my favorite crap TV shows….E True Hollywood Story or some special on VH1.
I think Dave kicks butt! Last night I saw the show and one of the guys was singing a Creed song, and Dave goes “That is the best I have ever heard that song done. I don’t know if that is a credit to you or a knock at the other guys, but take it for what it is worth.” I loved it!

Yeah, last night’s show was awesome compared to last week’s show, despite the fact that the song selection last week was a heck of a lot better, in my estimation. But the singers were better (a lot fewer radical rearrangemets). I don’t know how they could possibly put 3 people in the bottom three. Almost everybody, except Ty, nailed their performance. Susie did fine, but her rendition of Get Back sounded a lot like a Disneyland or Cruise Ship version. Deanna was not that strong, but I think her spilling of her cleavage all over the stage and her INXS lapdance will keep her from being voted in the bottom three. I guess we’ll find out what happens in a few hours. Tara is on the bubble . . . hope her weak chorus in Message in a Bottle didn’t doom her.
