good show guys! ter, I didn’t realize how much mom & dad left you with g-ma! poor guy! And how the heck did you get scabies?????

  2. Padrino Says:

Whoa! Somebody actually listened to this show? Thanks!!! I thought the music was awesome on this one. Umm, in answer to your queries . . . I was left in Grandma’s care when I was about a year old; Grandma eventually took me to Alaska when the parents sort of got settled down. And then she took me in after the parents bolted for Texas. That really didn’t matter a whole bunch because I usually spent every single summer in her care after we moved to the Twin Cities. I would generally be home for the first couple weeks of summer vacation and come home for the last couple of weeks (save for a couple of summers when I was hooked up with Sara, probably 10th and 11th grades).

Anyway, right after graduation I was living on a school bus with my band and it wasn’t the cleanest place on earth. No showers and plenty of DNA was being splattered about the place as I remember. You know how teens with raging hormones, a willingness to drink anything and no parental supervision will tend to act. Total and complete entropy. We were living in a den of filth. A couple of us got scabies, and since I had no medical insurance, or real job for that matter . . . it was off to grandma’s to recover! After I got fixed up I decided it was probably best to head South and find the family. Hahahha, when I got down there, things weren’t much better than my bus! The family was living in a State Park. You might even remember that! ;)

Crazy life, but oh, those memories!

BTW . . . There will be a new episode recorded this weekend. I think we are going to cover a lot of Rockstar: Supernova stuff. So, I hope you are a bit familiar. If not, it won’t really matter. We explain all! The show should be on-line early in the week, if L.G. doesn’t have a melt down! Hahahha, sorry L.G.!

  4. she appizle Says:

Alright! Time for some Supernova!! VOTE RYAN STAR OVER AND OVER! His original stuff is so good too, he’s too good to be in their band!! I started out liking Lukas and Dilana, they set the bar high, but haven’t been able to reach it since! After a couple weeks a few others have grabbed my attention like Ryan, Magni and Storm. I hope Ryan makes it almost to the end, but I don’t want him to lead this band. This band seems like a joke! Poor Ryan, he never gets the credit he deserves and then they still have that side show Zayra there and they compliment her! Whats up with that? I began liking him the best when he did Unfortunate Son. SInce then he’s been my fave. What do you think? Any faves?

  5. Padrino Says:

I thought Ryan was largely forgettable . . . and then something happened. Ryan went nutso! If he can deliver this week, he may become a favorite. I thought Lucas was the most likely to win, but he doesn’t have the voice that Ryan has, just the “look” that would best serve the band. I’m still of the mind that Dilana will end up fronting the band. However, my fave is . . . well, you’ll just have to tune into episode 47 to find out. The entire episode is dedicated to one particular Rocker.

  6. she appizle Says:

nice cliffhanger Pads! hehehe. I think I have a pretty good guess of who it is. After I find out, I’ll tell ya if I was right! All I know, it better not be Z!! I think Dilana is prob gonna be the winner, but I just find her a bit boring and don’t think I could listen to her voice for much more than a couple songs. I’ll be tuning in!!

  7. Aren Says:

I’ve been watching Rock Star this year…I just want to know one thing…when did heavy metal rockers become so PC?? I just laugh when Jason says “I really like your attitude.” What is this, first grade?? And Tommy “No one is a loser here, we are all winners.”…where have all the rockers gone??
Knowing Padrino…he probably likes Z! :) and her flashy outfits.
None of them are really jumping out at me…I can’t stand Lukas…hes too…I’m a rock star and it is so painful for me to sing these lyrics. I hate that.
I do like Toby, Mangi and Ryan…but not to front this band…maybe do their own thing. I liked Toby’s version of “Burin’ down the house” I thought it was cool. Storm is good, but not right for the band.
The only one that could probably do it would be Dilana.
When will they kick out Patrice….I don’t like her either.

    Reality TV Junkie…>Aren

  8. LG Says:

Ohh, I hated Toby’s “Burning Down the House”–I thought he was ripping off J.D. Fortune’s schtick with the megaphone. :-)

  9. Padrino Says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I only want to say one thing here! I think Aren knows me better than my own sista! :)

Actually, I’ll say two things. I have that same feeling about Lukas as Aren does. I think he has the strut, confidence and look that the band wants, but I’m not at all convinced that he’s a particularly good singer. Not in the way Ryan and Magni are. Those boys can sing. Dilana kind of freaks me out at times, but she has the most interesting voice of the lot. But I’m not sure she doesn’t sound like a Bonnie Tyler (is that who I’m thinking of) clone. Sometimes she sounds like Axel Rose. She very well might win this thing though.

Oh . . . and you are right, Patrice must go. How can a freakin’ Sheryl Crow clone still be in the running. When she pulled out that American Idol standard, “Respect” or was it “Think?” I thought, oooohhhh, that’s it. Put a fork in her right now. And then she survives and the other two get cut?
What in the heck was that all about????????

Thanks for tuning in guys. I’m sorry some of you are going to hate this next episode. I’m nearly finished editing it. I think it is a really good episode. A bit randy perhaps. But then again, “ill” is half our name!

    Yours,
    Pads

  10. Aren Says:

Maybe Dilana is Axel Rose…have you seen him lately?? I know he had some plastic surgery….HMMMMMMM

LG- if I knew who JD Fortune was and I knew his version then maybe I would agree. But since I don’t know and can’t compare it…I liked Toby’s. So there…. just kidding :)

But answer my question you guys…why have the heavy metal guys gone PC??
    Always loving your attitude! :)

  11. she appizle Says:

Oh shoot! I’m getting the feeling that Pads likes Z!! Her and Patrice should never have been on this show!! I agree with Aren, I also liked Toby’s Burnin’ down the house! Toby is just so-so I think, but I enjoyed that performance. I think Dilana will win this thing for sure. Patrice didn’t do RESPECT…Jill did that song the night her and Josh were cut. Patrice did My Iron Lung and a Jeff Buckley song in her bottom 3. She’s totally boring…from the very start! Should have gone a long time ago. C’mon ppl…help me vote for RYAN on Tuesday!!! I read the spoilers, I know I’m a total junkie, I can’t wait to see the show!! Just hurry and get your next episode up already so I can begin to torment you about Zayra…I know that’s who you like Pads!! I hope I’m wrong…I may have to disown you :)

  12. Padrino Says:

    She Ap!

I’ll vote 5 times for Toby if you don’t disown me! :)

Also, you can flame me all you want, but Z has a great set of lungs and an awesome booty! Yeah, she’s from bizarro land, but hey, isn’t she a lot more fun to watch than Patrice, Jill, Storm, Dana, etc.? Dilana is an interesting performer, so I won’t include her in the mix. Also, she doesn’t sing flat! If you go back and listen, she has a very husky voice in the lower registers and that mixes weirdly with her heavy accent, lending her an odd timbre.

Aren, . . . totally agree; these guys are PC to the NTH! They should be hanging out with Jean Enerson or Oprah! Oh, have you really thought about the name Supernova? It is a dead/dying star. Pretty appropriate, huh? I never really care about the boys in the band on Rockstar, what I do love though is HOUSEBAND! For a cover band, they ROCK ASS! Can you imagine the American Idol band ripping trying to rip through some of these songs, like Baba O Riley, or or or . . . remember that wicked guitar solo in Zayra’s version of You Really Got Me?

Can you imagine an American Idolist sitting down at the piano and doing what Ryan did? Give me a break.

  13. she appizle Says:

Vote 5 times for RYAN and I wont disown you!! I think Zayra has an awful voice, but other than Storm and Dilana she’s prob the most entertaining female. She just ruins every song she sings though!! I just hate to see other more talented rockers being sent home and getting put in the bottom 3 before her! Her accent comes out very thick when she sings so to me that’s not appealing either! The band has lost a lot of followers for keeping her around. The message boards were flooded with ppl saying they are done watching the show because of her. I felt so bad when Phil got sent home and not her. Sorry, just can’t agree with ya on this one! hehehe. I thought that Chris Daugtry from AI should have tried out for this competition, he’d be much more suited for a rock band and plus he’s got some pipes…he prob would have went far!

  14. Mrs. Brightside Says:

okay I feel left out! the only thing I know about rockstar is that I agree with aren about Lukas, I hate his looks, I hate his actions and sorta don’t like the voice either. He’s dripping in depression. I also can’t stand storm’s crazy eyes. And I don’t dig chick singers especially in a rock band! And I’ve never heard Zayra sing but she is really cute but does not fit the bill of a “rockstar.” okay I’ve said all I know about rockstart his season=))

  15. Aren Says:

I have to agree…I never understand half the words Zayra is saying. Thank goodness I know the songs so I do know the words….but I like her attitude!
She kind of reminds me of Bjork!

  16. she appizle Says:

Ryan rocked tonight!! He stole the show and in the clever words of Lukas BOOOYAAA!! Zayra did well in her own element just not good for the band, Magni was really good too, he has such a great voice. Patrice was just alright. If I would have seen her on 6th street in Austin I would have prob liked it, but she just doesn’t have the power for a huge audience. Toby did really well tonigh too. No interaction with Gilbey so I thought that was a little odd. I hate Lukas’ song choice, but it was just alright. Can’t stand the song all together though. Dilana, she just didn’t give me the chills. I thought her performance was boring, but she sang well. Poor Poor Storm. She really tried and could tell she didn’t like her song either. I thought she was entertaining though. The guys contradict themselves so much. You’ve got Z who messed up so many songs yet they like her cause she’s entertaining, yet Storm who never messes up a song does once, she’s still entertaining and they slam her for it! THEY SUCK!!

  17. Aren Says:

You got it all wrong…They like Z because of her Attitude :)
    Patrice was SO boring…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
TOBY ROCKED! Plus, he has a nice butt!! :)
Ryan was awesome…I thought his performace was WAY better than Dilana…and she messed up one the words….she said “Cats in the craddle with the silver moon…little boy blue and the man in the moon…” I thought it was “Cats in the kettle at the Peiking Moon they place where I eat every day at noon”- just kidding…. Lukas reminds me of Corey Feldman…don’t know why…
    Ok, back to work.

  18. Padrino Says:

Hahahaha! “THEY SUCK!” Well, yeah they do. Storm worked her ass off, but I felt like most of the song was pretty “American Idol.” Same with Patrice, as usual. And also with Toby. I did however, love the way he rocked it a bit at the end on the bongos. That was pretty awesome. I love it when singers jump on percussion instruments. Still, it was a terrible version of a tremendous song; oh, and I have to add that I can play that song a lot better than Gilby did. And the boys said “That was awesome!” No it wasn’t, it pretty much sucked donkeys. Just another American Idol moment.

    Bottom 3 in my opinion:

    Patrice - Booooring
Toby - Booooring with a nice ending
Magni - Gay song, booooring performance, bland clothes, but nice nice vocals

    Top 3 in my opinion:

Ryan - Dramatic as hell, powerful vocals, better than the original. Would have loved to see Tommy play on that song. A great drummer’s song.

Zayra - That was an original song! She wrote that! And it was incredibly beautiful. Wasn’t exactly a “rock” song, but it was so professional. The song, the “restrained” performance, and for once, the elegant dress, reminded me of a Grammy performance. Again, not what the show is about or what the fellas are looking for, but a great moment, nonetheless.

Lukas - Toned down his theatrics and eyebrows and showed some vocal flourish for once. I was starting to doubt that he could sing even a little bit. I think he was just a little bit better than Dilana and Storm.

BTW, I was only able to vote for Ryan 3 times and then I couldn’t get through anymore; not sure if I went over a limit, the time to vote expired or the site got too busy. Anyway, sorry She Ap, I tried. I didn’t even get to cast a vote for Z! :(

Aren! I love Zayra’s attitude too! She’s fiesty, but not one of those pushy grrl power rockers like we’ve seen in the past. She knows as well of the rest of us that she is never even get a whiff at being in the band, but she keeps trying to forge ahead and establish her own fan base.

Hopefully L.G. will get the next episode, the Rockstar: Zed episode on line tonight.
