Ill Crate episode 9
This week on (in?) the Ill Crate, we turn our attention to the Billy Nayer Show and their weird low-budget movie musical The American Astronaut. We also recap the season finale of The Amazing Race; debut a new segment called the Geek Zone, where we mouth off about the Xbox 360 because everyone else is mouthing off about it these days (and because it’s a shameless ploy for extra search-engine hits); and vent our Weakly Disappointment, aired this week by LG(!).

Okay….listening to your review of the American Astronaut i’m wondering if you’ve seen “Six String Samurai” ???
A notch above on production value and less a musical…
A group of baddies who look like Slash from Guns & Roses are chasing a guy who looks like Elvis Costello in a post apocalyptic America semi-run by whats left of the Soviets who invaded sometime earlier. If I remember correctly he is attempting to reach Las Vegas for some sort of Guitar / Rock contest….
Very weird but kewl in the American Astronaut sort of way!

So….Padrino…are we talking a Scott Stapp (Creed) look? Heheheheh!

Dude, you wouldn’t believe this hair cut. It’s shorter than my manhood! I don’t think there is anything earthly, not to mention “human” that my look could be compared to. It is frickin’ pathetic. I dare not leave home.
I’ll have to check out that movie. I may have seen it though. Or started watching it at one point. It sounds very familiar. Again, thanks for the “heads up” on American Astronaut. I’ll probably end up buying that film.

P. is being way too self-conscious about his haircut. I think he feels a heightened sense of awareness because more oxygen can get to his skull now. Seriously, I don’t see anything wrong with his haircut. It’s the first time I’ve seen him without long hair, and I’ve known him for nearly 14 years now. So a drastic change like that is bound to mess with someone’s, er, head.
I think Rass is definitely onto something with Six-String Samurai. I’ve been wanting to see that ever since it was in the theaters.

Just let me know when you want to schedule a viewing and I’ll throw it in the Netflix Queue.
Ok, I’m slowly getting over how bad my hair cut is. But I’m still not happy about it. Also, I’ve been extremely cold since my locks were removed. But then again, it hasn’t been exactly hot out either.

Yes, you two must watch Six String Samurai…and I forgot to mention the obligatory fact that he carries and uses a Samurai sword to great effect!
This is the first time Padrino has had short hair in at least 14 years!? WOW! Yeah I bet it’s a shocker…I can’t picture him without his Rock Monster Hair! DUDE!
One wonders what the extra oxygen to the head will bring about…
We need to get together! How’s June looking for you boys?

June looks good to me . . . as long as it isn’t the first weekend. Besides, I need to let my damn hair grow out a little.
Bet you’ve already seen Star Wars, right Rass?
LG is working on a new sort of feed called an RASS feed (really ass-simple syndication) . . . he thinks he can then corner this whole crazy podcast market and leverage it away from Adam Curry.

Rass: Padrino made up that whole thing (RASS). Which I’m sure comes as a great shock.
Padrino: I never logged out of the Web site on your $#^&#*$# machine. To quote Black Francis, “Where is my mind?”
